my blood, my politics
description
my blood, my politics, embarks the audience on an engaging exploration of the human body, as we delve into how society shapes our physical selves.
witness as the body, weathered by the relentless pressures of societal constructs, tries to liberate itself from the shackles of conformity. emaciated yet resilient, it confronts its own politicisation, questioning ownership and agency in a world dictated by normative paradigms.
in this performance, balabanova along with dejan bitrovski, reveal the lasting impact of oppression on our bodies. taking inspiration from various social situations, the performance goes beyond boundaries, helping the audience to rethink freedom and societal rules.
the performance premiered at the national gallery in skopje as part of the first edition of the festival dance bunker vol.1.
