Ivana Balabanova (29.05.1992), known as Balla, is a Macedonian dancer and choreographer, working in the field of urban and contemporary dance for more than 10 years. She starts dancing at a very young age, as a hobby, which later attracts her interest deeply. At the age of 16 she is already a 27 times multi-national champion in solo-urban dance category and many times champion at different dance categories.
At the age of 17, she founds the “Beatrix Crew” group with her team, which she later develops into the “Beatrix Cultural Center”. Becoming a CEO of an organization at only 18, she constantly tries to find balance between the creative and managing part of her work. Her dualism in activity leads to exhausting but successful outcomes throughout the years. In 2014, at the age of 22, the Beatrix Center receives its own place, where most of her work is situated until today. Meanwhile, Ivana works hard on development and improvement of the dance scene in her country, thereby founding and developing the first, and until today, the only dance camp and festival here, called “Beatrix Dance League”. Within it’s five editions, this festival has gathered some of the biggest names from the urban dance scene in Skopje, Macedonia, such as: Jaja Vankova (USA), Franklin Yu (USA), Jun Quemado (Italy, USA), Kenzo Alvares (The Netherlands), Kevin Paradox (The Netherlands), Ukay (Germany), etc. Throughout the years she develops many more projects which goal is to raise the level of education in Macedonia, by organizing free dance workshops from her team or partners from other countries. Two of those are the “Beatrix Specials” event within it’s three editions and the “Beatrix Dance Caravan” 1,2 which includes workshops in different cities in Macedonia.
Honest. Wholesome. Quality

Ivana and her team founded the group Beatrix Crew, which later Ivana developed into the Beatrix Cultural Center. Throughout the years, the center has being recognized as one of the most successful dance stories in Macedonia. The children who learn here are many times finalists and two-times vice-champions at the ESDU World Dance Championship. Currently, Beatrix is one of the biggest dance centers in Macedonia and contains the largest number of teachers. Today there are 10 teachers working actively and 8 assistants who are being prepared for future achievements. Beatrix focuses on quality and education and strives to bring quality values to children’s lives.
